9-1-1 Personnel Receive Child Safety Seat Training

Marion County 9-1-1 Director Mike Hall sent two members of the agency to receive nationally recognized CPS Safekids Training. The training was held over four days in August 2005 and covered numerous topics including crash dynamics and proper child seat installation. The training concluded with a live Safety Check at Poage Auto Center where the newly trained technicians, with supervision from instructors, assisted members of the public with inspection and installation of child safety seats.

The National Standardized Child Passenger Safety Training Program certifies individuals as child passenger safety technicians and instructors. Tens of thousands of individuals have been certified as since the program began in 1997.

CPS technicians and instructors put their knowledge to work through a variety of activities, including child safety seat checks where parents and caregivers receive education and hands-on assistance with the proper use of child restraint systems and safety belts.

If you would like to have one of our safety seat technicians examine your current install, or help with a new install, please give us a call to schedule a time when one is on duty.
